Celebrating the story of Grace United Church, Loverna

2019 was a year of celebration and goodbye for Grace United Church, Loverna.
On June 2, 2019 we gathered to worship and celebrate the building that has housed the Loverna United Church faithful since 1923 -- originally known as the Loverna Union Church. Many stories were shared of the Annual suppers, the bazaars, the many Pastoral Charges that they have been partners of, the student ministers, the fun that was shared throughout the years. The building was sold and is to be kept as a memorial/testament to this integral part of a community that has a rich history.

In the fall, the remaining members of the church made the decision to close their congregation. Even knowing that this was the right thing to do, this was a hard decision to make.
As of December 16,2019 the congregation of Grace United Church, Loverna Saskatchewan has ceased to legally exist.

The work and faith of this small church will always be remembered as part of the history of their community.
We give thanks to God for all of the faithful who were and are part of this story of faith.
