We have just witnessed the immense power of storms as Hurrican Dorian has devastated the Bahamas and swept across the East coast of the U.S. and Canada. Within our own community we have personal connections with folk who have been affected by this, it brings it closer to home. Those who have lived directly with this experience are likely to read and hear these scriptures differently than those who have watched from afar.
Today we look at the storms of life... those that come in weather and those that come in plans disrupted, schedules turned upside down and challenges that we never saw coming.
We are once again called to see God with us, to have faith that God will walk with us through all of this.
When we are in the midst of the storm, we can call out to God to quell our panic, to find our power and our strength.
When we are on the outside looking in, we need to hear the call to be the voice, hands and feet of God.
Through the storms of life, God is with us. We are not alone. Thanks be to God.
