Today we explored a bit about receiving and giving blessings, about trying so hard to understand what it is that God would want us to do.
We heard our own questions in Psalm 15.
We heard Micah speak of God's possible frustration with people who don't listen, who don't see, who don't appreciate the gifts of life. We considered how we should show our appreciation for the little things, those blessings we miss, how we should look for God around us.
Then, through the Beatitudes, the teachings of Jesus, we explored language and how we hear and respond. We heard that we can find blessings in all of life and that we can be a blessing by standing up for, standing up with, being there for God's people.
We recognized that God stands with us when we get into trouble because we love well.
