Genesis 24:42-49 Rebekah's choice. Matthew 11:16-19, 25-26 Come to me
In this together with God

Today's scriptures spoke to me of the joining of listening to God, relying on God's wisdom and direction, and offering hospitality to God's world.

We continue to live in the everchanging world of COVID-19. Small steps forward seem so tedious and yet, we can also see examples where changes have been made without consideration of others, or sufficient knowledge with disastrous results.  We find ourselves in a world where we are being asked to consider if the systems we share with others are tilted in our favour. Black Live Matter, Gay Pride, Indigenous People continue to ask us to help in the dismantling of a system that encourages racism to create one that cares for us all.

How are we listening to God? Are we responding without consideration of others? When someone asks us for help are we responding with an abundance of hospitality or as little as we can get away with?

Come to me, says God. Learn from me, says Jesus. Are we brave enough to do so?
