Worship July 18

Only July 1st, the Mandatory Restrictions for COVID were lifted. As we have seen there are still folk who are being cautious about this open 're-entry' strategy. While many are gathering with friends and neighbours, there are many who continue to wear masks and need space between themselves and others.

We are also hearing continuing uncovering of unmarked graves from Residential Schools that is challenging us to walk with grieving families and to change systems that are unbalanced, unfair and just plain wrong.

Our scriptures this week call us to take care of each other. To note when peace and healing are needed, to ensure that those who are working the hardest are given time for rest.

They also remind us that God does not make distinction between people. God loves all of us -- no matter what colour or size we are, how rich or poor we are. People are the ones who create the barriers, the walls that hold us apart.

As we begin considering how we can consider re-entering the walls of our churches again... how can we ensure that the walls hold healing and do not create barriers holding people out?

While we do not have a minister, we encourage each other to continue to worshop online. The weekly worship here is shared with us by Camrose United Church. However, there are many other United Church Worship services available online with no walls to hold you back. Join in worship with God's faithful people somehow, somewhere.
